"a well-ordered break" 23', ©2026
Composed around the filming of an action movie in Braddock, Pennsylvania—read here as refrain—"a well-ordered break" casts the camera's gaze as a pessimistic narrator of its own experience. The border between inside and outside, sound and image, is haunted by its inability to cohere into a narrative object. By sorting through a mess of icons—from the American West, to breaking the order of a room—the film abstains from documentary conventions. Instead, it plies classical motifs of pursuit and montage to present a perspective that is distanced, fragmented, and deliberately guarded; this alienated gaze draws into focus a stark landscape of resistance: the 2025 protests across Serbia; the demolition of a small town; and the destruction of another. The result is an anti-narrative documentary of nihilist flight from an always-already exhausted vocabulary of representation.
